Challenges with Miracle Mile Shopping Center

Open-air, multi-parcel topology: Backhaul lived on the MDC Revest building while coverage had to span separate storefronts and long sidewalks along Coral Way.

  • Backhaul location: The handoff on the Revest building sat off-axis from several target parcels, driving longer lateral runs and careful line-of-sight planning to hit the edges of the plaza.

  • Pathing constraints: Exterior-rated cabling had to traverse façades/soffits and cross parcel boundaries with minimal penetrations, clearing metal awnings and trees while respecting landlord aesthetic rules.

  • Power & protection: Several remote positions had no new circuits, so we used a PoE-first design (switches/injectors) with weather-rated enclosures, surge suppression, and proper bonding/grounding for outdoor gear.

  • Indoor + street frontage: A mixed layout—one indoor AP for lobby/corridors plus an outdoor AP for sidewalks/entries—required tight downtilt/azimuth to keep signal on walkways without spilling into the roadway.

  • RF & coexistence: Dense stucco/concrete, glass, and canopy trees created shadowing/multipath. We coordinated channels across tenant Wi-Fi and added a CBRS small cell with SAS/EIRP compliance to blanket entrances and parking bays without self-interference.

Delivered end-to-end: Full cabling, mounts, turn-up, and testing of the indoor AP, outdoor AP, and CBRS small cell on the Revest façade.
